Amateur and Pro Boxing Youth Boxing is fully catered for by the ABA who do a fantastic job in developing young fighters to regional, national and international standard. Top competitors go on to have a professional career as true world level competitors. However, boxing is an excellent form of fitness and self defence training not just reserved for youth and elite sportsman. White Collar Boxing So called ‘White Collar Boxing’ evolved out of a demand from ordinary men & women whom wanted to take up boxing for the training aspects alone and the benefits that a boxing workout provides, without stepping into a ring and competing. Although eventually, some got a taste for the sparring and wished to test themselves further. So their clubs obliged and arranged ‘Fight Nights’ which are charity events where Boxers can compete in front of an invited audience against white collar boxers from other clubs under amateur rules. 'Boxing specific' kickboxing at the Black Dragon Academy The BDA has developed a successful class based Kickboxing programme over the last five years and we found that when we run 'Boxing specific' classes it made great improvements to our students overall kickboxing game. So much so, we decided to run classes on a regular once a week basis.
